Home-cooked Jamaican dinner

As promised, here is one more Jamaican food post to round out my monthly resolution of one blog post every day. Tonight we stayed in and cooked. On the left you see peanut soup (recipe from here), festivals being fried in the cast iron on the right, and a couple pieces of jerk chicken that we did on the stove. The picture on the right shows the rest of the jerk chicken from the oven (unfortunately no pimento wood grill for us) plus a typical Jamaican salad. We used Walkerswood seasoning to marinade the chicken.
